We are always interested in expanding the Twister database! If you have additional sources or would like your story to be added to the page, please contact us through the MAIL button in the top left corner. If you are interested in further information, please visit the sites below that have helped build this resource to what it has become today!
First and foremost credit goes to Terry L. Fritts, whom without his tireless work this would not have been possible. Unfortunately, Mr. Fritts passed away in March of 2011. Terry enjoyed specialty Mustangs and was known as Mr. Twister for his knowledge and enthusiasm of Twister Special Mustangs. Terry and his father owned original versions of the 1970 Twister Special, the only father and son documented to own such classic cars. Terry created the original Twister Special Registry and was a resource for Twister specifications for NADA. His original website is no longer around, but a copy can be found archived here.

Kevin Marti and his team at Marti Auto Works is your go-to for original invoices, window stickers, door tags, personalized stats, and more for the Ford community. His access to Ford's database can generate a detailed report for any VIN from 1967-2007. Get your full vehicle report done today.
I recently received an email from Erica Jacobs who is the mother of young Evan Jacobs who both live near Denver, Colorado. She informed me he has been doing a bit of research on his own, and she showed me this article he found about the history of the pickup, its role during WW2, and how it changed life for many working Americans. We both thought it was a great article, and its very cool to think what an awesome impact the pickup truck has had on our way of life, from farmers to construction workers, to your every day person who just likes the utility they offer. (Since I just sold my own 1964 Ford F100 pickup about a month ago I wanted to make sure to add this to my page for you Evan. You picked a great article to showcase and I appreciate your contribution of a fun and helpful article for our website. Keep up the research and one day when you are older you can buy your own car or pickup! Make sure to thank your mom for her email and I look forward to hearing back from you if you have any questions about cars that I can answer!)
Its always a good day when we receive fan mail from people visiting the site. I've heard from Miss Rachel Martin who is a wonderful and helpful volunteer at www.learninghaven.com and she is passing on some information from Kyle and his classmates who say they have been doing some research into World War II Jeeps and thought that this article showcasing some neat facts about them would be beneficial to other visitors of our site. I wasn't aware that Ford had such a big role in the production of the initial Jeep line so I'm excited to have learned something new! (Kyle - I'm glad you show such a strong interest in cars there are so many different things you can continue to explore and maybe one day you can get a job designing or building cars like they did with the Jeep! Thank you for reaching out and if you have any other questions please let me know and make sure you tell your teacher thank you for contacting me!)

From Terry Fritts' original Twister Special Registry:
I wanted to include Thanks to several people who have been of great assistance with the Twister documentation and research. I know I can’t list everyone or this would take 3-5 pages. To all who have helped me and my fellow Twister owners, we appreciate everything you’ve done over the years. To the following people I owe a great debt of gratitude for all their years of assistance and friendship.
Joe H. - The "Father” of the Twister’s
In the crazy corporate world of just making bucks, Joe turned out to be a true friend. He is unique, as he is a car enthusiast that just happened to work for Ford. Without his help there would be very little known about the Twister’s. Being a car lover, he kept many items associated to the special promotions. A large majority of the items found in this site came from Joe, or someone who had worked with him. On behalf of myself and all my fellow owners we say, “THANK YOU JOE.”
Lois Eminger
Having worked for Ford and in her retirement, Lois ran the invoice copy service that gave us the carbon copies of our window stickers. Lois did considerable research of her invoices and provided invaluable assistance to me during the time I needed it most. With her efforts, I have a copy of all the 1970 Twister Mustang and ARI convertible invoices. Thank you Lois !! Lois passed away in 2009. May she rest in peace with the graditude of all Mustang and thunderbird owners.
Donald Farr, Jim Smart, Tom Shaw and All The Automotive Photojournalists, Magazine's and Book Editor's
Many Thanks to you for working with me/us, and publishing the articles, pictures and stories about the Twister’s. Your efforts aided greatly in the search for existing cars and still do to this day.
Kevin Marti
Kevin, who owns Marti Autoworks, has taken over for Lois Eminger and continues to provide valuable research assistance in locating the Twister's and original ten(10) ARI Mustang VIN's and Invoice copies.
To My Fellow Twister Owners
What a great group of people ! I consider many of you my personal friends.
I’d like to especially honor Walt Wise of Anaheim, CA, who's car is the main feature on the Twister Mustang page. We lost him a few years ago . When Walt bought his Twister, restored it and began showing it around California, the magazine and book editors beat his door down wanting to do articles about the Twister’s. Walt was undoubtedly one of the most active owners in our group and owned the number 1 Twister in the show world. We also owe him a great debt of gratitude for all his efforts. Walt you a sorely missed and I cherish the years of true friendship we had.
To My Wife
For her indulgence and encouragement of my passion for Twister Special’s and Mustang’s in general. She is truly my BEST FRIEND ! A man can not ask for a better woman in his life. Thank you Debra !
To My Children
For the many years of letting me “drag” you around the country to the numerous car shows and events. My love for you is undying. Thank you for your support and love over the many years.
